U.S. online grocery sales for delivery and pickup hit a record $7.2 billion in June, a 9% increase over May, which set the previous record at $6.6 billion (Digital Commerce 360).
Retail platforms had a massive global traffic increase between January 2019 and June 2020, surpassing even holiday season traffic peaks. Overall, retail websites generated almost 22 billion visits in June 2020, up from 16.07 billion global visits in January 2019 (Statista).
In May, BOPIS (buy online pick up in store) grew by 195% year-over-year. Curbside pickup rose 208% between April 1 and 20 compared to the same period in 2019 (Range Me).
During the third quarter of 2020, Amazon generated total net sales of nearly $96.15 billion, surpassing the $69.98 billion in the same quarter of 2019 (Statista).
