Meet Haley Rubin, Vice President of Client Success for SmartCommerce

Q: How long have you been at SmartCommerce, and what’s your background?


I’ve been at SmartCommerce for over two years now. Time flies! I have a marketing background with over 20 years of experience, including various marketing positions with leading consumer brands. Throughout my career, I’ve had a variety of management roles in Shopper Marketing, Packaging Innovation, National Promotions, and Digital Marketing to drive marketing strategies. I’ve also delivered growth for brands in the areas of Multicultural Marketing and Brand Marketing.


Before working at SmartCommerce, I was the Digital Shopper Media Lead at Heineken for over three years where I created demand for the Heineken USA product portfolio by optimizing program activations, including the application of digital shopper touchpoints and ensuring that all touchpoints were embedded within national, regional, channel and customer level programs. Before working for Heineken, I was the Digital Shopper Marketing Manager at Diageo for just over four years. I had prior marketing experience with CPG companies like Philips and PepsiCo, (including over 11 years at Pepsico!).


Q: What does a typical day look like for you in your current position?


Each day, I provide thought leadership & overall guidance to CPG and agency clients to encourage them to eCommerce enable all relevant consumer touchpoints by leveraging our technical solution across all digital mediums.


I work hard to inspire our client network by demonstrating how to leverage today’s digital society & evolved purchasing behaviors within. I am very passionate about our solution and how easy it is to use, everywhere possible!


Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?


I love that I’m able to leverage my digital shopper marketing skills to drive our business by working closely with our CPG clients and having an empathetic ear to their day to day challenges (since I lived it), and also being able to educate our internal teams on the many aspects of life within a CPG corporation.


Q: What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?


When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my family. I have an awesome husband, three kids, and a dog named Boston. My family LOVES traveling together – last year we went on a cruise to the Caribbean!


Q: Something that might surprise us about you?


I developed a knack for marketing when promoting my college rock group. I’m a classically trained pianist and was a keyboardist in the band (that’s where I met my favorite fan, now husband!). I then went on to work for Capital/EMI Records before joining the consumer goods world.
